Don’t leave this world except in the state that you’re a full conviction, and you believe in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala and the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) says,
You will die the way you lived.
You’ll be resurrected on the day of judgment, just the way you passed away, and that was crucial for the companions, we know the famous Dua of one companion, who’s praying and the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is listening to his Dua,
he’s he Praises Allah in this lengthy poetic way, it was so impressive the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) had someone go and bring a bag of gold, and he gave this to him as a hadiyah, because he was so impressed by the way he was praying. But I want to focus on the last part,
make the ending of my life the best.
No one knows when the end comes, nobody knows, many of us live giving, but can we die giving many of us live praying can we die praying, many of us live doing righteous Deeds can we leave the world the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said the person who Echoes
لا اله الا الله – La Ilaha Ilallah before they leave the world, they’re entering into Jannah.
اللهم اجعلنا من قول امين
So this was heavily impressed on the lives of the companions, and they gave and they sacrificed even when they left this world, they were still in the state of fear they wanted Akhira.
Abu Bakar [Ra], he’s on his Deathbed and he’s crying, and the companion says, Ma yubkika ya khalifah Rasulillah?
why are you crying?
you were the first one to accept Islam after Khadijah, you’re the first one to give the Prophet refuge and protection.
Anta siddiq, you are the truthful one, you are the close companion. Shahibul ghar, The companion in ghar, you did so much, there are multiple places where the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said Abu Bakr is my companion in Jannah.
As he was sitting in the cave the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said you know they were just sitting alone, the prophet goes and says you know when you’re alone with someone you want to tell them something special, this is what the prophet said to abu bakr, Ya Aba Bakr you are my companion in this cave you’re my companion in Jannah.
Now only in Jannah you are my companion on the pond where every Muslim that enters will have to drink from and we’re both going to serve them.
لا اله الا الله
but when he’s on his Deathbed, what was his attitude?
he’s crying, I’m crying over my sins, I’m crying over my bad, my Deeds, the things that I miss and the companion says can we call her a doctor to you know give you make you feel better, you’re going through pain he says the doctor’s already seen me, what did the doctor say?
He said Inni Faa’aalul limaa yureed
اني فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
Say I do whatever I want to do that’s Allah, how can I call the physician who’s Allah, who himself has decided for my departure.
Like Shafiee says, you’ll find people who are the physicians in that field but dying from the same illness that used to cure for their entire career.
